We are seeking a Senior GL Accountant with Italian who would be supporting an SSC operating in Prague (Karlín).
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed asset additions and depreciation, bank fees, an other transactions
- Perform monthly account reconciliatios, balance sheet analysis for accounts
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly and yer end closing process
- Lead ad-hoc projects, integrations, and company initiatives
- Regularly review balance sheets (BS) and profit and loss (P&L) accounts to identify trends, errors, or omissions
- Assist the Accounting Manager in populating quarterly balance sheet analytics per division and analyze fluctuations
- Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts in adherence to Newell Policies
- Collaborate with business finance teams to analyze P&L and balance sheet movements related to customer program subledgers
- Coordinate and monitor progress during internal and external audit requests
- Identify process improvement opportunities and make recommendations to senior management and team leaders
- Assist new team members with accounting training for a smooth transition of tasks
- English and Italian on a B2+ level is a must
- Education in accounting
- At least 4 years of Financial/ Management Accountant exerience
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX is an advantage
- Knowledge of Italian GAAP and statutory processes are a large plus
- Knowledge of all GL processes (balance sheet and P&L with variance analysis)
- Experience within an international environment is an advantage
- Knowledge of SAP and Blackline is an advantage
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
