What will you be doing?
- Providing estimates for tasks, including design, development, technical debt, and testing
- Producing code that is appropriate for a low-latency platform
- Participating in code reviews and architectural discussions
- Developing automated testing tools to exercise functionality, performance, and capacity of code
- Supporting the platform in production, investigating issues and providing updates
- Staying compliant with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
What we’re looking for:
- Ample experience with C/C++ programming language
- Experience developing multithreaded applications for server-side deployment
- Very good understanding of Linux/ Kernel and the tools available
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, accurately track status & update stakeholders
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience with Java, development of low-latency/ soft real-time applications, optimisations for Intel x86 architecture and middleware (Kafka/Solace/Apache ActiveMQ)
- Knowledge of containers (Docker/Podman)
- Experience with Agile (preferably Scrum/Kanban)
- Understanding of exchange trading of stocks and derivatives
